Our mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with Alzheimer's and dementia, to reduce caregiver stress, and to increase caregiver satisfaction. The intent of our programs is to help caregivers understand and accept the diseases of dementia and to give them methods and motivations for developing effective caregiving skills.
Using experiential methods, Healing Moments™ programs TEACH caregivers how to identify and accept the limitations of Alzheimer's and dementia; how to communicate effectively and connect deeply with persons with Alzheimer's and dementia; and how to reduce conflict, increase cooperation, and provide quality, therapeutic care.
"Healing Moments™ programs are powered by passion, and a great understanding of Alzheimer's disease and the journey caregivers travel to cope with the disease. Caregivers who are able to participate in 'Meeting Alzheimer's: Learning to Communicate and Connect,' will have the chance to gain a better understanding of the disease, how to best connect with the person affected, and how to live with it successfully." ~ Lindsay Brennan, LSW, CMC, Executive Director, LifeCare Directions of New England
